I absolutely love...

SMC's photo department.
Today my professor gave us a tour of the facilities they have.
3 black and white dark rooms for processing and developing film.
An enormous room with 30 separate enlargers and multiple stop baths, developer, and fixer containers. Everything is so nice and organized and the enlargers looked pretty high tech with electric timers.
That's only for black and white though.
The color processing area has about 30 individual rooms. I don't know much about color film or slides, but it looked like i could only see one printer for it. Not really sure how you make prints in color really so i didn't know what i was looking at.
Then there's the studio section.
6 different studios for shooting still life and other small end objects with many different hot lights and strobes at the student's disposals.
We then saw their very large studios. Two studios that can fit a car in it comfortably with seamless backdrops and all sorts of softboxes and reflectors.
There's also a kitchen for preparing food that you wish to shoot and a make up room for doing hair, costumes, and make up.
There was then three more small studios to shoot in.
In one of them we saw one advanced student doing a shoot of some jewelry with a medium format camera with a digital back. Apparently SMC lets photo students borrow any of the equipment like cameras and lenses for free.
And i guess as long as you're in a photo class you can use the rooms whenever you'd like. You just get priority to develop and print during your class.
The professor said their photo department was the best in Southern California and i don't think i doubt that really.

I'm definitely taking a photo class every semester.

Oh gosh. This is just hilarious.

Quick question for all your photo people.

So i ordered a Nikon AF-S Nikkor 35mm 1:1.8G DX today. Pretty excited to get it. Do you think i should try and sell my NIKON 50MM F/1.8D NIKKOR AF LENS?

The 35 is basically replacing my 50. I could get about 55 bucks for the 50 when i bought it for around 100.
